Covid – 19 could not stop our humanitarian activities. When the pandemic hit globally, there was a ripple effect. People across various streams affected. One of it is education sector. When the virus kept children away from school, technology brought the school to their home. One thing which is absolutely unaffected by the virus is technology. Rather it strengthened the same.
When Kerala government announced online education, a huge social issue arised among the rural population. Houses with no TV connection was a major concern. Sarjapura Malayali Samajam stepped into this social cause and decided to raise funds for helping the needy.
With the help of all our members, employees from Tata Consultancy Services, Bangalore based M M Consultants helped Samajam in fulfilling this noble cause and could distribute 30 TV sets.
TV sets were handed over to the beneficiaries at different places and attended by prominent local leaders.
We covered children from Kallar GHSS, Merikulam Pookkulam Govt School, Pattam Colony Chottupara Govt. School, Nedumkandam Panchayat UP School among the schools from Idukki District and
children from Kollakadavu Mohd. High School, Cheriyanad Vijayasree School, Venmony Govt School, among the schools in Alappuzha District.
